‘Bones’ Sizzles On and Off Screen

When Bones returns for its third season next week, one of the most anticipated storylines for viewers to look forward to is the ongoing romance between Angela Montenegro, played by Michaela Conlin and Dr. Jack Hodgins, played by T.J. Thyne. When we last saw the lab couple, Angela was on the verge of exchanging ‘I Dos” with Hodgins until a blast from her past effectively halted the marital proceedings. Michaela Conlin recently spoke to the Boston Herald about the sparks between her and her onscreen love interest on Bones.“Our romance actually didn’t happen as quickly as I think everyone thinks it did,” the 29-year old Conlin remarked. “I think it was happening all throughout season one, if you really watched.”The Pennsylvania native who is of Chinese and Irish descent also hinted at what’s in store for the forensically gifted duo. “I think this season it’s going to be really interesting to see where it goes, because Angela is definitely not one to be pinned down. She’s definitely a free spirit who really fell in love. I think it’s going to be really interesting to see how all of that plays out when you have a relationship that you’ve set up and what happens in the aftermath or what happens when you do leave the altar. We’ve been working on a lot of that.”In other Bones news, production for the upcoming season was briefly disrupted when a fire broke out on the set during filming three weeks ago. Apparently, one of their electrical equipment accidentally set a piece of material ablaze. A production assistant immediately extinguished the flames, preventing any injury or major damage. Filming resumed that same afternoon as mainstays Emily Deschanel, David Boreanaz, Michaela Conlin, T.J. Thyne, Tamara Taylor and Eric Millegan reportedly all donned costumes for the new season’s Halloween episode. Bones returns on FOX Tuesday, September 25

Bones Season 2 DVD Review Posted by Ryan Byers on 09.26.2007 If you like dead people and romance, this is the show for you. FOX’s anthropology-oriented murder mystery series Bones is slated to begin its third season in just a few days. To coincide with season three, the fine folks at FOX have also released the second season of the series in a six-disc boxed set that includes all twenty-one hours of the season’s content as well as plenty of bonus features. The show focuses on the lives of forensic anthropologist Temperance “Bones” Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and FBI agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz), who are called in to investigate murders which usually involve not much of the victim being left aside from his/her skeletal system. Their efforts are supported by a team working out of the Jeffersonian Institute, a thinly-veiled clone of the Smithsonian. Among them are Dr. Jack Hodgins (T.J. Thyne), an expert in all things related to insects and dirt, Angela Montenagro (Michaela Conlin), who specializes in facial reconstruction, and Zach Addy (Eric Millegan), who begins the series as a doctoral candidate in anthropology working under Bones but quickly earns his degree and becomes a Jeffersonian employee in his own right. In an interesting twist on the traditional crime drama, the characters’ personal lives are explored just as much as their professional lives, as will be seen as we run down the twenty-one episodes that comprised season two.

There are so many things to like about Hart Hanson’s quirky forensic drama, Bones. Loosely based on the experiences and characters of forensic anthropologist and author Kathy Reichs, the series follows FBI Agent Seely Booth (David Boreanaz) and his partner, forensic anthropologist Temperance ‘Bones’ Brennan (Emily Deschanel) as they track down serial killers, child murderers, and other human monsters all through the evidence left in their victims. The second season opens with Bones getting a new boss — Camille Sarosan (Tamara Taylor), whose conviction to stick to regular protocols puts her directly in the way of the experimental “outside the box” methods often used by Bones’ crew to find solutions. As Cam herself so indelicately puts it: “I am a diarrhetic seagull — everything goes through me.” Adding to the tension is the fact that Cam and Booth have had a romantic relationship in the past, putting added pressure on the long-denied sexual tension between Booth and Brennan.

A heavy week – and no bones about it

A heavy week – and no bones about itA WEEK IN THE LIFEALICE WYLLIEMondayI was up at 4am to get to the TV studio for 5am, where I went straight into hair and makeup. Then it was into rehearsals with my Bones co-star David Boreanaz. We spent the day filming a couple of scenes, and as usual didn’t get away until 9pm. Filming can be a slow and quite intense process, and I don’t get home until late. This evening, I had to dash back out again – I wanted to see Michaela Conlin, who plays Angela on Bones, in a play she’s in called Doubt.TuesdayIn the morning I did a photo-shoot and a couple of promotional interviews, before going for lunch with a representative for a charity I support which rescues farm animals. After lunch, I went for a massage with my mum at a hot spring in LA. I went into the studio for rehearsals in the afternoon, and when I got home I went straight to bed in preparation for another early rise in the morning.WednesdayTony Wharmby, the producer of Bones, has been directing an episode this week, and he knows the show so well that we got out at 8pm, which is almost unheard-of. I took advantage of the opportunity and went out with my friend to a launch party for a new fashion designer in LA. It was a lovely night, but since it was a fashion party, no-one was eating the cake, so my friend asked the organisers if we could take it home. It was hilarious leaving the party carrying the cake between us.ThursdayWe are due to start filming an episode of Bones directed by David Duchovny, so we all went into a meeting with him in the morning to discuss the episode. David was absolutely hilarious, so much fun and really great to work with. We have a new director for every episode, which took a while to get used to. Actually, my dad [director Caleb Deschanel] is going to be directing an episode soon, and David Boreanaz keeps teasing me about it.FridayI was working all day and trying to learn my lines in between takes. We don’t get much down time, just 15 minutes here and there, so I grab the opportunity to learn my lines whenever I can – I prefer to learn them during the day so I can keep my evenings free. I spent the evening relaxing in front of the television with my boyfriend. I’m obsessed with Project Runway at the moment, so I caught up on an episode that I had missed. The weekendIt was my birthday on Saturday, so I had a little get-together with some friends. I’m a vegan so I served lots of vegan food and forced all my friends to eat it. People tend to be quite sceptical about vegan food, but everyone loved it when they tried it, or at least they told me they did. On Sunday, I was in more rehearsals for Bones, then in the evening I went out to a friend’s dinner party.? Bones returns to Sky One from 16 November at 9pm.
