We have some promos from Fox of the 100th episode of Bones! The episode is called “The Parts in the Sum of the Whole”, and is a flashback (six years) to Booth and Brennan’s first case together. The captions to the individual images reveal we will see the recruitment of Angela (BSC-approved Michaela Conlin) in the episode as well. It will air on Thursday, April 8th (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT).

Episode Synopsis – The milestone 100th episode takes viewers back in time six years as Brennan and Booth recount to Sweets their first case together. With Sweets finishing his book on their partnership, Brennan and Booth take this opportunity to set the record straight on their initial pairing before his book goes to print. While working on a case six years ago, young and rebellious FBI Agent Seeley Booth seeks the help of Dr. Temperance Brennan and her team of scientists to hopefully find the evidence that will prove his high-profile suspect guilty. Although in unfamiliar territory, Dr. Brennan, her grad student Zack (guest star Eric Millegan) and Dr. Jack Hodgins (TJ Thyne) get right to work, impressing Booth with their knack for uncovering new leads and substantiating his theory about a well-connected district judge. While the case cements a foundation for a successful future partnership, it also reveals the convoluted beginnings of the formidable duo – whose feelings for each other almost ended the partnership before it had even begun.

Top 5: Questions with Michaela Conlin

  • 1. What can you tell us about Angela’s role in the much-anticipated 100th episode?

Michaela Conlin: We go back seven years, a year before the pilot. Brennan and Angela had been friends already and we find out about how and why Brennan decides to bring her into the Jeffersonian as an employee. She had been travelling and is trying to get back to Paris, which is sort of why she takes the job.

    • 2. Looking back on the first 100 episodes, do you have a favorite?

I really loved the first Christmas episode. I know a lot of people didn’t love it, but shooting that episode, it was the 13 episode of the season of the first year and it was really when we started to congeal as a cast. We all shot everyday, we were locked in the lab, I was in an elf outfit, it was just a blast. It was lovely and the first time I think we realized that we had something very special.

      • 3. How surprised are you that five years into its run, the show is more popular than ever?

It really is. I get stopped way more than I ever did in the first and second season. I get stopped all the time which is really awesome. It’s incredible. The show just seems to keep growing and growing and growing, and it’s great to be apart of something like that.

      • 4. Realistically, how long do you BONES can go on for? And are you happy to stick with the show as long as it goes.

It doesn’t feel like it’s been five years. Emily and I had just said that five years ago, in February we shot the pilot, which is crazy. I’m happy to do it as long as we all feel like we can keep making great shows and we feel that way so far.

      • 5. And finally, if you could put your writer’s cap on for a moment, where would you like to see Angela go over the course of the next say, 100 episodes?

Great question. I’d really like to see for us to see more of her family life with her dad and her mom. And I’d love to see Angela figure out who she loves and if she can be in a serious relationship. I’d love to see the next chapter of her life, where is she going to go…. I have a feeling that it might be a foreign country.
